So you have just got engaged…..Congratulations!

Life as you know it will never be the same again.  Here are the 5 most asked questions/topics raised once that sparkly ring appears on your finger.

  1. YOUR RING – Obviously this is the first port of call and if you are not showing it off you are constantly admiring it.
  2. THE PROPOSAL – Everyone (even complete strangers) will want to know the details of the story behind the proposal.  How, where, when, what were you wearing, what did you say…. it is all part of the fun.
  3. THE DATE – By the time you have managed to tell people that you are engaged, and the excitement of speaking the words has died down…..the barrage of questions will ensue.  Foremost of those is ‘What is the date?’ and ‘Where are you going to be married?’  Even if you haven’t had time to think about these details, think quick because they will want to know. :-)
  4. ALL OF A SUDDEN EVERYONE IS AN EXPERT ON WEDDINGS AND MARRIAGE – As well meaning as most people are, either from the excitement of it all or suffering from memory withdrawal, there are many people that don’t have a problem giving you their advice on the subject.  Just remember it is ultimately up to you and your partner.  Take on board what every advice sits comfortable with you and Thank the rest and move on.
  5. SO MUCH EXCITEMENT – Whether you are having a long engagement or a shorter one, it is hard not to get swept up in the whirlwind of organising and planning.  Just remember to make time for each other and enjoy being engaged.
